How Can We Serve Others?

You’ve heard of the grow your own food movement? Well, let’s challenge ourselves to grow food for others, even if it’s just from a pot on our porch. Together, we can help the Social Apostolate help others by growing fresh food for them right from our own gardens.

What-To-Grow Ideas

One winter squash plant can grow anywhere from 1-10 squash per plant!

One cherry tomato plant can grow 8 pounds per plant!
Bush beans don’t take up much space and can yield 120 bean pods per plant!
Kale and lettuce leaves can be harvested over and over again for months!
One Rabbiteye Blueberry bush can produce hundreds of berries every year!
Radish seeds can so easily be scattered and raked into the soil. Even the tops are edible!
Every sweet potato plant can produce 5-10 potatoes!

“that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground which you bring in from your land that the Lord your God gives you, and you shall put it in a basket and go to the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name.”
