How Do I Love God With All My Heart?, excerpt from Father John Bartunek’s book “Seeking First the Kingdom”
“Dear Father John, I want to love God with all my heart, but I don’t know where to start.  How do I do this?“

Before Discussion Notes:

  • We should aim to love and desire God above all things.
  • What we choose to look at, think about, and daydream about will affect the desires of our heart.
  • The devil uses this fact to tempt us to desire other things, even good things, more than God and take up our full attention.
  • We can do the opposite by committing to traditional pious practices, prayer, and the sacraments.
  • What are pious practices, devotions, and forms/habits of prayer that you find particularly helpful in cultivating your desire for God?
